Freecycle.org is a free email subscription service that lets members offer items free to others on their city’s list: the location, quantity, and condition of goods they would otherwise throw out are specified, and arrangements for pick-up are made privately. Members can also request items they need, and post questions about where to Dumpster dive or to find out about garbage pick-up hours. Freecycle.org began as a personal email from Daron Beal on 1 May 2003. It is now an Arizona non-profit and owns the Freecyling trademark.
