How can photography enact meaningful change on architecture and in the world? How can photography be used as evidence, a witness, or a tool for negotiation? Can it forge a sense of communal responsibility to and among represented subjects, be they buildings or people? This web issue activates conversations on the ever-pressing role of images in making sense of built and natural environments by observing conditions and situations when photography acts to preserve, alter, or advocate for buildings, landscapes, and communities.
