Visiting Scholar Anat Falbel presents her research on the works and the critical reception of European immigrant architects in Brazil during the effervescent and nationalistic atmosphere of the 1930s and 1950s in Brazil. These architects were considered as intermediaries in the transfer, circulation and development of modern architectural culture in a country which was more renowned for its photography, design and arts. Falbel has a PhD in Architecture History from the University of São Paulo and curated the exhibition Exile and modernity: the dialogue between the national and the foreigner in the city space.
Anat Falbel was a Visiting Scholar at the CCA in 2013.
