Visiting Scholar Jorge Correia presents his ongoing research into 19th-century photography of Arab cities, challenging its traditional reception as Oriental and reframing how these photographs can be perceived within a broader Islamic Mediterranean urban concept. Correia holds a doctorate in architectural history from the University of Porto and is an associate professor at the School of Architecture – University of Minho, Guimarães, Portugal.

Jorge Correia was a Visiting Scholar at the CCA in 2013.
