For the last of our outdoor concerts, guitarist Jérôme Ducharme performs works by Toru Takemitsu, Maxime McKinley, Leo Brouwer, Reginald Smith Brindle, and Luis de Narvaez in a survey of modern guitar music. These summer sessions jump through time to sample and contrast period music from the thirteenth century until today. All concerts take place on the green park in front of CCA, unless it rains—then they move indoors to the Shaughnessy House.
A member of the Tangere Trio, Jérôme Ducharme has been touring and recording ever since he won the first prize at the 2005 Guitar Foundation of America International Competition. He records for the NAXOS label.
