Join us on Thursday nights this summer for free outdoor Inuit games, performances, and film screenings in the park as part of the third edition of the Tillitarniit festival.
Complementing the exhibition ᐊᖏᕐᕋᒧᑦ / Ruovttu Guvlui / Towards Home, this year’s edition of Tillitarniit is titled Many Hands and is curated by Inuk visual artist and filmmaker asinnajaq. The festival opens with the Montréal premiere of Akornatsinniittut Tarrata Nunaann (In The Land of Our Shadows), the first film in Marc Fussing Rosbach’s Among Us saga, and will conclude with the sequel, Akornatsinniittut Kilnappalik (The Masked Man).
Almost every Thursday, from 28 July until 10 September, watch stories about Inuit communities from Inuit artists and filmmakers in Park Baile. Each evening starts with games, then live performances, and culminates with open-air film screenings organized around themes from sci-fi to experimental and horror. Bring your own chairs (we’ll have cushions), blankets, and snacks. Bring your own cups as well, we will be serving refreshments.
Please note that, in case of rain, we’ll move indoors to the Theatre Paul-Desmarais. Bring your cups as well, we will be serving refreshments.
Tillitarniit was originally founded in 2017 by asinnajaq and Stephen Puskas and the first two editions, in 2017 and 2018, took place with support from the FOFA Gallery.
