Imagine a new community space in Little Burgundy

CCA elsewhere, in English and French, CÉDA, 2515 Rue Delisle, Montréal, 4 May 2024, 1pm to 4.30pm

A new community space in Little Burgundy is coming in the near future… and our youth are the first in line to dream up its design! What can we learn from the perspective of today’s youth?

In collaboration with Club Énergie (CÉDA) in Little Burgundy, we invite youth aged 5-14 to join us on 4 May at CÉDA at 1pm, to collaborate and create ideas for the design of a new community space on the old site of the NCC (the former Negro Community Centre and Charles H. Este Cultural Centre). Kids will explore this reimagination through different disciplines (art, architecture, music, design, hip hop, breakdance) and share their ideas with their family and friends. Come chat, eat, create, and connect with us!

All families, especially those from the Sud-ouest, are welcome. Free entry, no reservation needed. Food and drink will be provided.

This workshop is part of our Diverse Pasts and Near Futures – Reimagine Community Architecture program, for BIPOC youth. It is a CCA initiative that aims to engage youth through workshops and inclusive initiatives that spotlight BIPOC perspectives within architectural spaces, and the built environment. We approach this mission with creativity, imagination, and collaboration, forging a more inclusive and diverse future within the field of architecture for and from BIPOC perspectives. Please contact us at public@cca.qc.ca if you wish to collaborate, participate, host, and know more about our program offering.

This program is made possible thanks to the support of Scotiabank.
