Opening: To Build Law

Event, in English, Paul-Desmarais Theatre and Shaughnessy House, 10 December 2024, 6pm to 9pm

Join us on 10 December for the opening of our new exhibition and film To Build Law in our Main Galleries. The event launches the second chapter of our three-part Groundwork series, curated by Francesco Garutti and exploring the field research of contemporary architects. The event will begin with a talk by Olaf Grawert (bplus.xyz) and Alina Kolar (HouseEurope!) at 6pm in the Paul-Desmarais Theatre. Grawert and Kolar will present the HouseEurope! campaign, as well as their projects and visions for the architect’s role today.

Groundwork uses documentary films conceived by Francesco Garutti and directed by Joshua Frank to reveal the research and transformative moments of early architectural projects, focusing on how architects engage with project sites in response to ecological crisis.

The galleries will open at 5pm, followed by a celebration at Shaughnessy House from 7pm to 9pm.

This event is free and open to the public.
