Opening: Oscillating Spaces

Event, in English, Paul-Desmarais Theatre, 24 April 2025, 5pm to 9pm

Join us on 24 April for the opening of Oscillating Spaces, an exhibition presenting multiple facets of the natural and cultural history of the Rhône Glacier. By juxtaposing various archival and contemporary works, the exhibition reflects on the environmental challenges linked to melting glaciers and their consequences for natural and built environments.

At 6pm in the Paul-Desmarais Theatre, the exhibition’s curator Anneke Abhelakh will introduce her curatorial approach and outline the stories that intersect to form the exhibition.

The gallery will be open at 5pm, and the evening will conclude with a celebration in the Shaughnessy House from 7pm to 9pm.

This event is free and open to the public, no reservation required.

Anneke Abhelakh is an independent curator, educator, and researcher based in Zurich who develops projects in the field of contemporary art, architecture, and public space. She has taught at ETH Zurich, and has worked at the Netherland Architecture Institute, where she established the “Studio for Unsolicited Architecture.” Anneke joined AMO to lead the OMA Progress exhibition at the Barbican and was the head of Public Program at The Berlage in Delft. She is curator of the Albanian pavilion at the Biennale Architettura 2025.
