Visiting Scholar Federica Doglio presents her research:

From 1966 to 1968, the architects and educators Shadrach Woods and Cedric Price, based respectively in Paris and London, found themselves caught up in a vortex of change in education. Like architecture, the field was searching for new models; thinkers sought to reformulate the basic problems of education, rather than simply seeking new solutions to old questions. This talk critically compares the radical visions for education of Woods and Price, with the aim of enriching the discourse on contemporary education theory and offering starting points for further discussion and study.

Federica Doglio is a PhD architect. She completed her PhD dissertation on “A Team X heritage. Shadrach Woods and the Architecture of Education” at the Architecture School of the Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of Piergiorgio Tosoni and Mary McLeod (Graduate School of Architecture Planning Preservation, Columbia University, NYC). She studied Architecture and Landscape in Italy, Spain, the US. She received her M.Sc in Architecture and Master in Landscape from Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, and her PhD in Cultural Heritage from Politecnico di Torino. She is Teaching Assistant at fourth year studios at the Architecture School of Politecnico di Torino. Her interests focus on the theory and criticism of contemporary architecture over the last fifty years in Europe and in the US.

Federica Doglio was a Visiting Scholar at the CCA in 2014.
