printed between 1775 and 1790
- The pair of etchings DR1985:0662 and DR1985:0663 depict a papal procession in St. Peter's, Rome. The composition is based on a painting of 1730 signed by Giovanni Paolo Pannini (1691-1765). The interior of Saint Peter's on the Occasion of the Visit of Cardinal Melchior di Polignac September 4, 1729 (now in the Louvre). Vasi has placed the viewer in the same position as Pannini; the spectator witnesses the procession from bird's-eye viewpoint from the central entrance to the nave. Vasi and Pannini knew each other well and the former based several other etchings on Pannini's paintings (Arisi).
