inscribed and dated - by the draughtsman, in graphite and blue pencil, c.l. to c.r.: "OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN"; in pen and blue ink, u.l.: "Mr. Wright - I had no time to / more than "rough out" this lettering - hope its OK. / [illeg.] Maltby. / 4-23-'57"; and t.: "all lettering is V sunk" and "center of / inscription" inscribed and signed - by the architect, in graphite, u.r.: "CHECK SPACING & SIZE / OF LETTERS TO ALTAR STONE L.W. / TYPE FACE SATISFACTORY IF THEY MATCH STYLE / [carret] AND FACE / OF LETTERS ON STEPS. THEY MUST BE THE SAME-L.W." stamped and numbered - l.r.: "243" [job number]
