- Design for a capital with several bands of a brown scallop pattern, and two branch motifs.

- The sheet is glued to a folded sheet of paper at the l.r. corner. An old fold runs horizontally across the c. of the secondary support; apparently it was a folder which enclosed this and possibly other drawings.
inscribed - by the draughtsman, in graphite, u.l.: "Entwurf zu einem Capitäl [sic]"; and l.r.: "Goesch" numbered - the draughtsman, in graphite and purple pencil, verso, u.r.: "(803)" inscribed - on the secondary support, by an unknown hand, in graphite, verso, c.l.: "2 Entwurfe / 50"
