Physical characteristics and technical requirements:

- There are sketches in graphite on the verso of the sheet. The sketch at the r. is apparently the principal façade of Notre-Dame de Montréal, at c. there are two sketches for unidentified subjects, and at l. a sketch of stairs.

Inscription:

inscribed - by the draughtsman, in pen and black ink, t.: "Door 9 feet Wide inside, and 7 feet outside at the / enterances [sic]."; u.r.: "Door entering the Church / on the first floor 3 feet 10 / Wide." [sideways]; b.: "Door at the landing 5 feet 10 Wide / entering the first Gallery."; and throughout: with measurements numbered - by the draughtsman, in pen and black ink, throughout: with numbers on steps from 1 to 31; and in pen and red ink, throughout: with numbers on steps 32 to 42, and "13" on each step inscribed and numbered - by the draughtsman ? in graphite, t.: "16 feet high 10 ft to import"; l.l.: "14 ft 4 from gallery to gallery floors"; and throughout: with calculations and measurements inscribed and numbered - by the draughtsman ? in graphite, c.l.: "Window" [sideways]; and "No 1 for 2nd gallery" inscribed and numbered - by the draughtsman ? in graphite, verso, u.l. to t.: "21 feet 7 1/4 from floor to front gallery floor / 14 -- 2 1/2 from gallery to gallery floor / 26 feet from upper gallery floor to top of Tower / 12 feet down from the top of the Tower to the bottom of ceiling"; u.r. to u.c.: "Plans of the [illeg.] Tower"; and from u.l. to t.: with calculations and measurements
