Passe-partout style housing with a gold coloured mat on top of the image plate. Object is housed under glass within a heavy wooden frame with a paper backing on verso. Image is laterally-reversed.

Inscription:

labelled and imprinted - in typescript, on a label attached to the secondary support, verso, u.c.: "Rue Montmartre, / 168. / Vor Chevalier, / Ingénieur Opticien / Paris / Vis-à-vis du Passage des Panoramas." [the letters "or" in "Vor Chevalier" are in superscript] inscribed - by an unknown hand, in blue ink, on the secondary support, verso, u.c.: "Ancien Hotel d'Uzès / Daguerréotype attribué à Niepce de St. Victor."
