- Modern binding consists of grey cloth cover and endpapers with metal screw binding. Green cloth with gold lettering from earlier album affixed to cover recently rebound.

stamped - in gold ink, on front cover: "PHOTOGRAPHS OF / GLASGOW COLLEGE" with gold crest labelled and inscribed - in black typeface on cream coloured label affixed to inside of front cover: "Photographs of Glasgow College / Photographer Thomas Annan / Glasgow 1870"
