inscribed - No. 122 - THE TREASURYBUILDING, WASHINGTON, U.S. / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / The TreasureBuilding, Washington, U.S. / The Treasury, Washington, is a new and imposingstructure of stone. The original building was three hundred / and forty feetlong and one hundred and seventy wide. This portion is now being extended, andwhen / completed, the total length of this department will be 465 feet,exclusive of the porticos, by 266 in width. / The style of architecture isthat known as Grecian Ionic, and the material of which the building iscomposed / is hammered granite. It will present four fronts upon as manystreets, the long rectangular space between the / fronts being subdivided bya centre building, extending from east to west, into two courts, each about130 feet / square. These large interior courts will be adorned with grass,flowers, etc. ( in brown ink, printed, on mount, verso, LC, C, CR )
