Scope and content:
File documents a submission for a housing development in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, for a low-rise, multi-family housing complex. The design proposal shows three-storey buildings that include 45 single-storey apartment units of approximately 725 sq. ft. The units are connected by stairs and open walkways. The façade of the buildings are articulated by shifting the plans slightly from unit to unit. Sketches illustrate the development of typical floor plans, site layout and the development of preliminary elevations with the incorporation of balconies, stairs, and open walkways. File includes four presentation drawings of the final proposal. Material in this file was produced between 1960 and 1961.
