In a partnership which extended from 1896 to 1914, Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin proceed from eager designers of houses in the Arts and Crafts styel, to architects of a refined domestic style. They were responsible for a series of designs for communities at New Earswick, Letchworth and Hampstead Garden Suburb, which changed the basis of housing design in Britain and beyond.
