The project was set up by Multiplicity on the occasion of the 'Mutations' exhibition organized in Bordeaux in November 2000 by the 'arc en rêve' architecture centre. USE, a research project in progress, was also presented at the 'Città Europa' exhibition organised in January 2002 in Milan by the Milan Triennial.
