Summary:

Fondée par Ma Yansong en 2004, MAD Architects imagine et construit des architectures de fiction invoquant les liens entre l'homme et la nature. Reconnue à l'international avec les "Absolute Towers" (Canada, 2012) ou plus récemment avec le "Lucas Museum of Narrative Art" (USA, en cours), MAD Architects, va livrer, cette année, son premier projet à Paris ("Unic"). Ce livre imaginé et conçu par Ma Yansong, propose un "parcours" parmi les projets les plus significatifs de l'agence, à travers des photomontages, des dessins, des maquettes, des photographies. Sont présentés notamment : le premier projet international de l'agence construit au Canada, les "Absolute Towers" (2006-2012) - également connues à Toronto sous le nom de "Marilyn Monroe Towers"- ; le "Harbin Opera House" (2010-2015) et le "Chaoyang Park Plaza" (2012-2017) en Chine ; la "Clover House" (2012-2016) au Japon ; le "Lucas Museum of Narrative Art" aux États-Unis (2016-2021). Un portrait de Ma Yasong par Frédéric Edelmann et une contribution de Frédéric Migayrou permettent de découvrir l'architecte et de mettre en perspective les enjeux esthétique et philosophique de cette architecture naturalisée.
