EUROPAN ist eine Wettbewerbsinitiative für junge Architektinnen und Architekten. Gegründet 1989 und getragen von 13 europäischen Ländern, führt sie alle zwei Jahre Wettbewerbe für innovative und experimentelle Modelle der Stadtentwicklung durch. Die Europan-Wettbewerbe 2017 und 2019 wurden zum Thema Productive Cities durchgeführt. An der Ausgabe 2019 beteiligten sich mehr als 900 Planungsteams aus ganz Europa, die Vorschläge für 47 Städte einreichten. Dieses Buch präsentiert die zwölf Siegerprojekte des Wettbewerbs Productive Cities 2 von 2019 für die fünf österreichischen Städte Graz, Innsbruck, Villach, Weiz und Wien. Sie werden mit Fotos, Plänen und Visualisierungen ausführlich vorgestellt, ergänzt durch kommentierende Texte. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf architektonischen und städtebaulichen Interventionen und Prozessen.
