'Tolix' tells the story of Tolix metal furniture through carefully selected photographs, archival material and drawings and reminiscences from leading specialists. Artisan Xavier Pauchard opened a small factory in France in 1907 to design and make household items from galvanised zinc. From the 1930s they produced furniture, including metal chairs that acquired a cult following and were used for more than 50 years in cafes, hospitals and even on the cruise ship Normandy, and were also bought by Habitat.
