How do ideas of urban planning change after national independence? Aziza Chaouni's research looks at the legacy of urban planner Michel Écochard--and how urban and architectural ideas developed before Morocco's independence transitioned to the post-colonial era. Lead by Group GAMMA, the Moroccan Modernist movement became a platform for hybridization and the integration of vernacular styles with Modernism.
