Optischer Farbmischer was designed to demonstrate the effects of colour mixing by the placement of different colour-printed rings on a gyrating top. Text on the verso of each numbered ring explains its optical effects, with some making reference to authors of colour theories: Rembrandt, Goethe, Schopenhauer, and Bezold.
