Major works include Toronto Union Station (1914-1921); Mount Royal Hotel (1920-1924), Dominion Square Building (1928-1930), Gleneagles Apartments (1928-1930), Montréal; Royal York Hotel (1927-1929), and Maple Leaf Gardens (1931), Toronto; and Dominion Bureau of Statistics (1948), Ottawa.

Biographical note:

Comprised of documents concerning the work of six successive architectural firms: Ross & MacFarlane (1905-1912); Ross & Macdonald (1913-1944); Ross & Ross (1944-1946); Ross, Patterson, Townsend & Heughan (1946-1950); Ross, Patterson, Townsend & Fish (1950-1958); Ross, Fish, Duschenes & Barrett (1958-1976). The Archive is named after the longest running office, Ross & Macdonald, established by George Allen Ross and Robert Henry Macdonald. George Allen Ross (1878-1946), born Montréal. Studied architecture at M.I.T., Boston, and École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. With Carrère & Hastings, New York (1903-1904). Partner, Ross & Macfarlane, Montréal (1905-1912). David Huron Macfarlane (1875-1950), born Montréal. M.I.T., Boston (1897-1898). With Edward Maxwell; Hutchison & Wood, in Montréal (1901).
