Two-category competition seeking innovative solutions to the problem of integrating photovoltaic technology into buildings and the built environment. Category I focuses on the design of a fully PV-powered visitors' pavilion celebrating American sports to be located in Washington, D.C. Category II is an open submission category in which entrants are encouraged to submit work in progress as well as new ideas for projects powered with photovoltaic systems.
Winners: Andrew Scott + Paul Donnelly Architects and O'Donnell Wicklund Pigozzi & Peterson Architects Inc. both were awarded a citation for their entries in category one; citation awards for category two: Anthony Loui Design/Amy A. Alper, Architect and Kiss Cathcart Architects.
