Le comte Charles de Simony a fait don en 1950 de 61 daguerréotypes de Girault de Prangey au Musée gruérien. Ils ont été gardés par Henri Naef, alors conservateur du Musée, dans ses archives privées, à la Tour de Marsens, Puidoux, jusqu'à leur découverte en mai 2003 par le Musée gruérien; ils y sont conservés.
