Summary:

Collection documenting the development of instructional materials for an elementary course in architecture by Jules Guillot. Includes a wooden model of a two-story house and 1 printed sheet of cloth with elevations, sections and plans of the house. Also includes drawings showing views of the model partially and completely assembled. Four albumen prints, mounted on boards, show similar views. The textual records include a printed prospectus for a "Cours élémentaire de construction à l'usage des écoles primaires par Jules Guillot". There is also a printed prospectus for a "Modèle de construction ... pour servir à l'enseignement pratique dans les écoles primaires, d'adultes, professionnelles, etc., inventé par Jules Guillot", with corrected proofs. Also includes correspondence, a label addressed to the director of the "Exposition-Concours international de la Société scientifique européene à Madrid", a patent application for the plan of the model, a copy of a patent issued by the French government, an issue of Le petit journal (19 déc. 1889), an issue of the "Annales de l'Académie universelle des sciences et des arts industriels et de la Société scientifique européenne fondée en 1849" (juillet 1890), a photocopy of an article from the Journal de Valence, and a printed sheet with an "Extrait du registre des délibérations" of the Conseil général du département de la Meuse.
