Summary:

"Frederick J. Kiesler - architect, sculptor, painter, designer, set designer and art historian. Kiesler was tireless in his pursuit of a radical new concept of interior spaces: his dream was a polydimensional living space, an organic continuum in which color, form and light combined with magical and mythical themes - would create a unique cosmos. Frederick J. Kiesler: Endless Space examines the multifaceted concept of "endlessness" in Kiesler's work, focusing on the Endless House as the most mature application of this theoretical framework. Although the house was never built, the intensive conceptual process of its development as well as the radically innovative studies Kiesler produced have made the Endless House one of the most significant architectural experiments of the 20th century. Kiesler's core concepts of endlessness and continuity are now re-emerging in contemporary visual culture signaling important historical and methodological issues. The publication has been produced in collaboration with the Austrian Frederick and Lillian Kiesler Private Foundation. Thanks to its rich holdings it has been possible to reconstruct Kiesler's ideals of living and his concept of modernity."--BOOK JACKET.
