Native of Weston, Mass.; died 1989 at age 86 ; founded Ann Hatfield Associates with Elsa Voelker in the 1930s; in 1942, her furniture designs took first prize at a contest sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art; helped design the interiors of several well-known New York City buildings including the International Arrivals Building at Kennedy International Airport and the Museum of Modern Art, as well as the Rockefeller Resort Hotels in the Virgin Islands and the Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh; retired in 1979.
