Principal projects: Ville Mont-Royal Post Office (with Raymond Affleck), 1953-1955; Vancouver Civic Centre and Auditorium, now called Queen Elizabeth Theatre (with Affleck, Desbarats, Lebensold, Michaud et Sise), won competition in 1955; Pavillon Notre-Dame, new wing of Saint-Joseph Hospital, Rimouski, 1959-1962; Courthouse, Gaspé, 1961-1962 (unbuilt); Courthouse, Percé, 1965-1967; Cité des jeunes (planning), Vaudreuil, 1963-1964, campus of 400 acres for a secondary school of 8,000 students.
Jean Michaud (1919-1995) was born in Montréal, Québec. Studied architecture, École des beaux-arts de Montréal, 1938-1942; B.Arch. McGill University, 1942-1945. Atelier de Le Corbusier, Paris, 1947-1948. In private practice, Montréal, 1949-1971; Rimouski, 1960-1963, with Arcop, 1953-1959. Professor of architecture, Université Laval, 1958-1968.
