Board game consisting of dice plus an engraved sheet depicting in a spriral, 63 numbered views of the wonders of nature alternating with manmade wonders, and culminating in a centre depiction of the creation of the world. Game rules are presented in the centre square.
This type of game, known as 'jeu de l'oie' in French, was first developed in Italy in the late 16th century and may have been based on ancient Greek or Egyptian games of a similar nature. Traditionally the game is played on a board containing 63 illustrated squares laid out in a spiral.
