Summary:

The present edition is the outcome of the research works presented in the course "América Antigua. Arquitectura y Planeamiento" (Antique America. Architecture and planning) that for 15 years has been carried out by Jorge F. Buján in the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. The central topic is the study cities and territories of South America during colonial times, particularly the relation of the urban centers in the accidental geography and the tensions between the colonial authorities and the Pre-Columbian cultures, the impact the Spanish invasion and complex post urban processes.
