Notes:
Plan and drawings for the development of a "Jardin de Monceau" (now the Parc Monceau) in Paris, for the duc de Chartres (later duc d'Orléans) engraved after drawings of the designer, Louis Carrogis, called Carmontelle, who has written the preliminary exposition and the explanation of the plates.
"De l'Imprimerie de L. Jorry, rue de la Hachette"--Colophon.
Bibliothèque nationale reports an earlier publication dated 1773, and Le Rouge reproduced a plan of that date accompanied by smaller reproductions of plan-keyed attractions in his Cahier X, with other plates scattered through other cahiers of his Detail des nouveaux jardins à la mode. The plates have also been reworked and used later showing a change of costume amongst the strollers and different captions which lack keying to a plan and instead name the actual location which inspired the scene illustrated for replication in Monceau. Hand-colored and bistre prints are known as well.
