Humphrey Carver (1902) was born in Birmingham, England. Architect, community planner, and author. Educated in England. Active in Canada from 1930. Organized the 1939 Housing Conference. Chaired the Research Committee, 1948-1955, and Advisory Group, 1955-1967, Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Major publications include Cities in the suburbs (1962) and Compassionate landscape (1975).
