Architecture
In 1964, Bernard Huet (1932-2001) traveled to Japan for six months in a quest for a link between traditional Japanese spaces and modern Western spaces. He brought back photographic testimony of the premodern architecture and gardens of the archipelago. This book questions the mythification of photographs and the interpretation of Japanese culture. Huet relates how the transformations of Zen spirituality in the 20th century shed light on the myths that inspire Japanese works of art.
