"Perspecta 32" is an investigation into architectural modernism in a postmodern age and exploration of surface as a subject with depth. If it is understood that we are now in age that that does not look at modernity uncritically, how does its optimistic imagery continue to play a vital role in architecture? In the first sense, some of the contributors interrogate ongoing returns of past "stylistics", specially the recent vogue for postwar, mostly American, production loosely united under the rubric "The fifties".
