AP206.S1.1985.PR01
Description:
This project series documents the residence of Shri Chandra Prakash Gupta in Saharanpur, India in 1985. The project consisted of a two-storey home with a smaller third storey tower. The home had a dining room, kitchen, drawing room and bedrooms on the two first floors. On top of the smaller third storey tower was an upward facing water tank that resembled a large trough. An elaborate boundary wall surrounded the property and featured a tall, arched gate. This wall, coupled with a front door panelled with rosette designs and windows with patterned grills, gave the home a distinct exterior. The project is recorded through original drawings consisting of floor plans, elevations, sections, details and furnishing drawings, and photographs and negatives of the finished home, dating from on or around 1985.

Description:
The project series documents "Mappe Recinti Itinerari Territori", a rug made of eleven small tapestries hand-woven together. Pettena designed this rug for a special production for "Megalopoli" in 1989. Each of the tapestries represent four subjects: itineraries, territories, maps and enclosures. These subjects "are the means required for the definition of space inside or outside those “magic circles” that are the walls of a city, the beginning of a construction, as the rituals that are performed inside any enclosure take on a unique quality and role, different from whatever lies beyond this boundary." [1] The project series contains a reference photograph and photo montages of the eleven small tapestries forming the rug. Description:
This project series documents the Laboratório Showroom Habitação Dimensione Fuoco in San Donà di Piave, Italy. While the records were held in the office’s archives this project was assigned the number 39/90. The office assigned the date 1993 to this project. The firm Dimensione Fuoco Vetroveneto commissioned Siza to design the extension of a building. The design proposed by Siza was a 3000 square metre triangular building, connecting with the existing structure with a courtyard and a boundary wall. It was intended that the cultural organization Circolo Architteture would occupy the space. The program included spaces for architectural conferences and exhibitions, a library and archives. Siza was also supposed to design a sculpture in the park near the building. It is not clear if the project was realized. Documenting this project are sketches, studies, design development drawings and working drawings. Textual materials include project documentation and correspondence. Photographic materials document the models, project site and construction work.
