Pi-Yuen-Tszu [sic] Temple- Pekin-" [sideways] labelled, imprinted and numbered - in typescript and black ink, on a paper label associated with the photograph: "[Chinese characters] / No. 897, PI-YUEN-TSZU [sic] TEMPLE. / Continuing our illustrations of this Buddhist monastery the accom- / panying pavilion is noteworthy, not only as making a good view, but as it / contains the tablet of Ch'ien-lung ,who [sic] lived in the year a. d. 1736."
