"Taking as its starting point Rupert Gunnis's Dictionary of British Sculptors (1951; revised 1968), the dictionary has amassed a vast amount of new information on British-born sculptors, and also foreign sculptors based in the British Isles and those who produced work from abroad for British patrons.
