Emilio Tuñón and Carlos Martínez de Albornoz have been working together since 2004, when the latter joined the practice of Mansilla + Tuñón. Since the initial period following the death of Luis Moreno Mansilla in 2012, Tuñón and Albornoz have reimagined their approach to architecture, circling back in some ways to their beginnings but also pushing forward in new directions. The architects of Studio Macías Peredo, based in Guadalajara and led by Salvador Macías Corona, Magui Peredo Arenas, and Diego Quirarte Contreras, believe that the act of designing is inseparable from the act of remembering. Architecture is a living testimony to the culture of a place. The studio is greatly influenced by pre-Hispanic architecture, archaeology, and Mexican colonial styles, and the partners travel extensively, studying vernacular and modern buildings throughout Mexico in order to grasp how they work. This issue presents their work from 2014 to 2024, including the Punta Caliza Hotel, Izamal Water Garden, and tropical residential complexes.

Dutch architect Anne Holtrop started his own practice in 2009 and completed his first two major projects in 2015, Museum Fort Vechten in the Netherlands and the National Pavilion of the Kingdom of Bahrain. In some of his works, form is explored through appropriations from natural occurrences and random drawings, while others focus on the unique gestures dictated by a particular material. This overview of his practice to date features nineteen projects spread among the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Middle East, and Japan.
