(B)log On to Some Ideas Contest

Today marks the kick-off of a new idea on the Some Ideas website. Well, new for us but maybe not for you. We’re launching a contest for active or aspiring members of the blogosphere.

Stephen Taylor and Ryue Nishizawa have created residential projects which address the challenges of building homes in dense urban environments. Their work reflects the cultural contexts of London and Tokyo and offers new ways to think about living in the city as well.

Now it’s your turn. Taking inspiration from the work of Stephen Taylor and Ryue Nishizawa and the Some Ideas exhibition, create a blog entry or a series of entries that describe your ideas on living in the city:

Share stories or observations about your city; describe what you see as successful or intriguing architectural and planning projects and how they might offer new ideas on living; imagine new or alternative forms of living in dense urban environments.

These are just some of the ways you can share your perspective.

What’s the point? You can win one of several CCA prize packages, see your ideas published on the website, and have the chance to become an official CCA Blogger. Not a bad idea, we think.

Here’s how it works:

- to the Some Ideas website and create a post or a series of posts with text;
- Add visuals by uploading images OR by embedding a video posted on YouTube, Vimeo, or another video sharing website.
- Tag your post with the word “contest.”

Submissions will be accepted in English and French. The number of blog entries per person is unlimited, but entries must be posted on the Some Ideas website by 26 October to qualify for the competition.

For more about the exhibition explore this website or read the press release.
