The site
The site in AutoCAD (Download the .dwg files from the bottom of this page. Please note that the LOTO Quebec complex, south of Oak street is not part of the Charrette site). A green strip accommodating a bicycle path following the basin's edge forms the northern edge of the generally flat site; Bridge street forms the southern edge, Mill street the eastern edge, while busy, elevated CN tracks form the western edge of the site. The center of the site is occupied by an imposing grain silo complex, while the remnant of the largely filled-in Wellington basin runs parallel to the silos. The rectangular part of the site described by Mill street, Bridge street and Oak street (shaded in red) is occupied by newly built Loto-Quebec facilities, and is not part of the Charrette site. Car access to the site is by Bridge street and Mill street and bicycles have access via the Canal bike path on the northern edge of the site. |
